Rotonda is a Latin (Italian and Spanish) based word with two different meanings.
The first one is 'roundabout'.
They are the typical case of the Prisoner's Dilemma โ๏ธ in Game Theory. Assume we're in a car ๐ and come across an intersection.
To cross it safely,โ ๏ธ we need to reach a mutual agreement.๐คIt's a matter of deciding who goes first.๐

First: Traffic Lights
It's one of the most common ways to manage an intersection and it's centrally controlled.
Second: Tailgating
Tailgating in the middle of a congested intersection.
Third: 4 way stop
A popular traffic management system in the US.
Given that installing traffic lights in low-traffic areas isn't efficient and cost-effective.
It requires vehicles from all directions to stop at the intersection before crossing, making First In-First Out the rule of thumb.
A final alternative is
the roundabout
Roundabouts are circular intersections that require incoming traffic from all directions to slow down. It's an algorithmic-like logic that doesn't require traffic lights or implicit rules to reach a mutual agreement.
Recently, there's been a significant increase in the number of roundabouts in the Korean countryside where population density is low.
It's been a simple and cost-efficient solution highly suited for Koreans who tend to lack patience and dislike waiting in red lights when no one is around. ๐
We believe that
the algorithmic-like consensus at roundabouts is in line with the principles of blockchain
so we have chosen to implement it as Rotonda's main doctrine.

'Rotonda' or 'Rotunda' also means a large structure with a dome-shaped roof in the center. In the same context, Rotonda also contains our hope for our company to prosper and become a large monument.
Rotonda is a word that's easy for Koreans to remember because it sounds similar to 'lottery' in Korean.๐
